Hundreds of juvenile justice practitioners from all across the country have been certified since 2012 to deliver the NCMHJJ’s Mental Health Training Curriculum for Juvenile Justice (MHTC-JJ). This infographic captures the results of the training’s evaluation and an analysis of the impact made countrywide by its certified trainers.

The MHTC-JJ provides critical information on adolescent development and mental health conditions commonly seen among youth in contact with the juvenile justice system, effective treatments for justice-involved youth, and the important role of family. In addition, the MHTC-JJ provides participants with practical strategies for interacting and communicating with youth in their care who have mental health needs.
