Innovative Juvenile Court Program in OhioA recent article posted by Corrections.com features an innovative court program developed by Judge Linda Tucci Teodosio in Summit County, Ohio. The “Crossroads” program is designed to meet the needs of youth involved in the juvenile justice system who suffer from a mental illness and have a co-occurring substance abuse disorder. Participants ages 12 to 17 take part in an intense 12- to 18-week program that includes family involvement and case management. Treatment is provided over five phases resulting in increased independence and decreased court contact. |
