Learn How Foundations Effect Change in Juvenile Justice Reform
The Youth Transition Funders Group (YTFG) is composed of regional and national foundations dedicated to improving the lives of youth transitioning out of foster care, in contact with the juvenile justice system, in need of mental health or substance abuse treatment, or at risk of dropping out of school. These grantmakers work across the fields of justice, education, child welfare and mental health. In a recent publication, “A Blueprint for Juvenile Justice Reform,” the YTFG discusses successful initiatives in the areas of community-based treatment, detention reform and reentry programs that have arisen as a result of philanthropic support. It also provides a list of government, nonprofit and philanthropic resources in the field.
